About Us
Flying Grouse Farm is a family owned farm located in the foothills of the western Maine mountains. Our focus is on pasture-raised Icelandic sheep in a natural environment, using a rotational grazing system. We believe this system is healthier for the sheep as well as the land.
Flying Grouse Farm's property has been a working farm in one form or another for circa 200 years. Over its long history, the land has supported sheep, dairy cows, horses, haying and apple orchard operations. Today the farm is supporting a flock of Icelandic sheep. With a successful 2011 lambing season, the farm continues to evolve and the land continues to provide a healthy environment for the sheep. |
