We focus on raising purebred, registered Icelandic sheep for breeding stock, fiber and pasture raised lamb.  Our farm is located along the banks of the Androscoggin River, in the western Maine mountains.   At Flying Grouse Farm we believe that the quality of life of our animals has a great bearing on the quality of breeding stock, fiber and lamb produced.  We produce beautiful, well cared for, healthy animals in a natural and healthy environment.  The sheep graze on pastures throughout the spring, summer and fall  and during the winter they are fed a high quality hay. We utilize pasture rotation and natural fertilization - a low energy, environmentally sound approach to raising livestock.  It's better for them, better for us and better for you!
